Last year, H&M shot models Liya Kebede, Stella Tennant, Kasia Struss, Mariacarla Boscono, Du Juan, and Fei Fei Sun with their family members and friends for its holiday campaign. It looks like the retailer is going for the same concept again this holiday season: see Georgia May Jagger and her mom, Jerry Hall; Kristen McMenamy and her sons; and Karen Elson and her fraternal twin sister, Kate Elson, in a preview of this year’s set, shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. So far, a beautiful ad campaign.

OPI announced a new collaboration with Nicki Minaj featuring six new limited edition shades inspired by the rapper, including a purple Shatter! Inspired by Minaj’s unique style, love of bright colors, and her debut album Pink Friday. The line features five nail lacquers in addition to Super Bass Shatter, ranging from fantastic pink, rainbow confetti glitter and charcoal sparkle hues to two green shades in lime and teal. The limited edition collection will be available beginning January 2012. Can’t wait to try the colors!

H&M hasn’t yet released the TV commercial for its upcoming Versace collaboration, but a behind-the-scenes look at the set — complete with a few quick clips from the commercial was released. Lindsey Wixson runs on a hamster wheel, and Daphne Groeneveld is floated off a staircase by a wire — both while dressed like teenage Donatella Versace. As for the set itself, H&M’s creative director describes it best: “I think we actually used all the gold paint in London that was available for this job.”

Designer collaborations with H&M are commonplace and even expected now. But collections based on fictional characters? Not so much, until now. Lisbeth Salander, the edgy, troubled, goth protagonist in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, has inspired a new capsule collection, WWD is reporting.
Trish Summerville, the costume designer for the US movie version ofThe Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (she also outfitted the Black Eyed Peas, No Doubt, Ricky Martin and Janet Jackson on their tours), designed the 30-piece collection, which will be a part of the Swedish retailer’s Divided line. For H&M, the collection was a no-brainer. “It was really great that H&M is a strong company that can afford and wanted to do some sort of collaboration with us, because it is a very controversial book,” Summerville said. “They were just like, ‘Yeah, she’s Swedish, she’s amazing, and we want to be a part of this.’”

Think hoodies, leather motorcycle jackets (in black and burgundy), boots, and a version of the Swedish/American flag hybrid t-shirt that Summerville styled Rooney Mara in for her Wmagazine shoot (at right). The prices will range from $3.95 for earrings up to $199 for the leather jacket, with the boots ringing in at a super-reasonable $59.95. The collection will debut at Colette in Paris on November 28, and then widely on December 14 to coincide with the film’s opening on the 21st.
