The collection is already selling out quickly on Net-a-Porter.com. My favorite are the Travel (love the bowling bag look) and the Trendy (LEOPARD!). What’s yours? Get it before its GONE!

Levi’s Spring 2012 Preview

Levis Spring 2012 Preview

Earlier this month, Levi’s hosted their Spring 2012 press preview at Stage 37 in New York. Levi’s always takes it up a notch with their press previews, their setup is always so amazing. Taking on the feel of a romantic, spring night, the event showcased key men’s and women’s spring looks in a static presentation. The presentation featured live models wearing key products for Spring including: Levi’s Curve ID, Dresses and Feminine Crafted for women and Commuter, Taper, and Tailored for men. There was also a water fountain installation made out of 150 pairs of Water<Less denim.

This Spring, Levi’s will expand Levi’s Curve ID, to include new fits, fabrications and finishes. Included in the Spring 2012 Levi’s Curve ID collection is the new ankle skinny offered in a fresh bouquet of colors just in time for Spring. The are also lots of cute women’s dresses too!

Marc Jacobs’s Spring 2012 Collection Stolen (Update)

All 46 looks from Marc Jacobs’s Spring 2012 collection were stolen in transit from Paris to London for a press day. The brand’s PR team wrote in an email: “Dear all, The Marc Jacobs PR team is sorry to inform you that our press day tomorrow in the Marc Jacobs store is canceled, due to the theft of the Spring/Summer 2012 collections during its transfer from Paris.” [Telegraph UK]

UPDATE: Scotland Yard has confirmed that it is investigating the theft of $65,000 worth of “clothing, bags, and shoes.” A person familiar with the situation says that the collection stolen was comprised of “duplicate samples, in Europe for press days … The collection as shown in New York is safe, and the red carpets won’t be missing Marc Jacobs this season.” [NY Times]

Marc Jacobs is offering a reward, according to its Twitter: “See any chic truck drivers cruising around Europe dressed in #SS12 Collection? Get a pic & call 212-343-0222. Reward.” WIsh I would find this guy !!

Versace for H&M Sold Out in 30 Minutes In Some Locations–People Are Already Lining Up Here in the US !

In case you were wondering whether or not sales of the Versace for H&M collection would match the hype, fear not: They did! The collection went on sale in the UK, Europe and basically the world yesterday (we here in North America have to wait until tomorrow) and people were clamoring for it.

There are multiple reports out of London that people started camping out the afternoon prior to the 9am opening on November 17, and the internet traffic crashed the retailer’s website. Marie Claire UK reports that H&M locations in Dubai and Beijing sold out in under 30 minutes, and that pieces–not coincidentally–popped up on eBay shortly afterwards. There’s a ton of stuff available there now, and the most expensive we saw–oddly–was the floral/leopard printed men’s bomber jacket for $750, followed closely by the women’s long studded leather coat for $700.

And what about the people who actually bought the collection to wear it? The pieces at the top of everyone’s list, not surprisingly, seem to have been the leather jackets and dresses; the black pieces in general seem to be the most coveted items. Grazia stopped a lot of shoppers in London to peep at what they bought–that black studded leather dress was a must-have, and so was the floral pillow. WWD reports that at a preview party thrown by Emmanuelle Alt, “within 15 minutes, the rails had been picked clean of all black dresses, but the French crowd seemed less keen on the more colorful items.” We suspect NYC may have similar issues.

Speaking of New York, you better start lining up now. According to a tweet by @ItsJenniferWard, who works in publicity at H&M:

Wow two die hard @Versace for @hmusa fans have been lined up at 51st and 5th since 11am.. Collection is on sale Saturday. Impressive!!

And she tweeted that YESTERDAY, for a collection that doesn’t go on sale until tomorrow. Bundle up and get out there if you want a chance at this collection.

American Apparel Lip Gloss

American Apparel seems to be slowly venturing into beauty, their first beauty product, “Nail Lacquer” released last year and now Lip Gloss. The first line of lip glosses consists of nine shades of gloss with colorful names inspired by the American Apparel experience. “From Legalize LA–a bright red using the slogan of the company’s call for immigration reform–to Pantytime–an apricot-toned pink named after American Apparel’s yearly celebration of all things underwear–these brand themes are complemented by fresh shades that flatter a range of women and a range of looks. The offering includes its share of natural tones, nudes and bold color.”

American Apparel lip gloss is priced at $12 per tube and will be sold at American Apparel stores worldwide as well as online. The rollout of the lip gloss will begin in 50 select American Apparel stores and will quickly expand as the production run increases.

LOVE Isabel Marant and I LOVE the GAP!! (Lately I have been wearing a lot of it 😉 ) So it’s no surprise that when I found out abou thtis charitable collabo I would go bananas!! She and Gap created an exclusive women’s tee designed for (PRODUCT)RED to mark World AIDS Day 2011. The tee retails for $24.95 and is exclusively at gap.com on November 17th, in US Stores on November 25th and worldwide on November 28th. 50% of the profits from the sale of all tees will go to the Global Fund to help eliminate AIDS in Africa. Support! 🙂

Isabel Marant comments, “I am very thrilled that Gap has given me the opportunity to contribute to such an important cause. This is one of those rare occasions when fashion can do something to help make the world a slightly better place. I am more than honored to follow in the steps of the impressive collaborators who have worked on the RED project before me”.

Marc Jacobs’s Entire Spring 2012 Collection Stolen

All 46 looks from Marc Jacobs’s Spring 2012 collection were stolen in transit from Paris to London for a press day. The brand’s PR team wrote in an email: “Dear all, The Marc Jacobs PR team is sorry to inform you that our press day tomorrow in the Marc Jacobs store is canceled, due to the theft of the Spring/Summer 2012 collections during its transfer from Paris.” Without the samples, there won’t be any clothes for magazines to borrow for editorial shoots. Versace for H&M Crashes Retailer’s E-commerce Site in the UK; US Site to Launch in Fall 2012

And the madness begins…

Versace for H&M hit stores today in London, Paris, Milan and Shanghai today, and, as I expected, shoppers came out in droves in person and online to shop the new collection. In Shanghai a fight even broke out when some of the professional queuers (yes, this is apparently a real thing) didn’t want to wait on line, WWD is reporting. On line (like the internet kind of line), there was a bit of Missoni for Target deja vu. H&M’s e-commerce site crashed only moments after the collaboration went up for sale, according to the Daily Mail.

I checked the retailer’s e-commerce site and while it appears they are still having technical difficulties (only some of us were able to get through), it doesn’t seem like the site is completely down anymore. H&M apologized over Twitter for the inconvenience to shoppers saying, “Followers, we’re sorry about the technical problems in our shop online markets – we’re working hard to solve them!”

Stateside, I have much more exciting news when it comes to H&M’s e-commerce: The fast-fashion retailer will (finally) be launching their first online shop in the US in fall 2012, according to this Tweet. Let’s just hope they work out all the kinks in time for us to shop their next drool-worthy designer collaboration–perhaps with Tom Ford–online.
