H&M Fashion Against AIDS Star Studded Ad Campaign

Last month you’ve seen the H&M Fashion Against AIDS 2011 illustrations and product preview already, today H&M announced their star studded ad campaign to support the cause! Celebrities include Selma Blair, Penn Badgley, Keri Hilson, Sky Ferreira, Akon, Nikki Reed, Ginnifer Goodwin, Scissor Sisters, Shiloh Fernandez and The Misshapes.

The unisex collection launches in H&M’s Divided department and online from April 26th, with 25% of sales donated to the charity Designers Against AIDS (DAA) and various other international HIV/AIDS prevention projects.

“I think it’s really fitting that this collection is androgynous in style since the disease affects both men and women. It’s a universal thing and we are all in this together. It’s a disease that can be avoided and it’s especially tragic when our ignorance keeps us from safety.” Selma Blair.

“I’ve had a lot of friends who’ve been in the situation where their friends and family have been affected by HIV. As I travel the world, I see how much HIV affects people. It’s not like we have a cure for HIV, we only have prevention. Make sure you are protected so that you don’t ever have to worry about it. Ever.” Akon.

Brad Goreski To Get His Own Show on Bravo, ‘It’s a Brad Brad World’

It was only a matter of time. Rachel Zoe‘s former assistant Brad Goreski, whose bow ties often stole a little of Zoe’s spotlight on her own Bravo series, has landed his own show on Bravo called It’s a Brad Brad World.

According to the release I  just received from Bravo, the show will follow Goreski “as he embarks on his new solo career as a stylist…and tries to maintain his personal life.” Cameras will trail Goreski as he hits up Paris fashion week, Cannes, the men’s runway shows and couture.

Goreski has certainly stepped up his styling game since parting ways with new mommy Zoe. He styled Kate Spade’s fall presentation, has styled numerous for In Style and Harper’s Bazaar, is rumored to have stolen Demi Moore away from Zoe, has snagged Jessica Alba as a client, and did some funny stunt during New York fashion week that involved fake fashion police.

“I’m so excited about my show on @bravotv!,” Goreski just tweeted. “Can’t wait to start filming “Its a Brad Brad World!!” Dream come true!!”

I CAN’T WAIT !!  🙂

J. CREW WOMEN’S 2011: GLAMOROUS PREP

For fall, Jenna Lyons, Marissa Webb, and the rest of the J.Crew women’s collection team chose a decidedly preppy look. “Of course they did!” you might say. But it was prep in the way I like to think of it: buttoned up with a bit of quirk and glamor for good measure. There were geeky platform loafers in lavender satin, sky blue cropped trousers, and a fit and flare trench that is sure to become a wardrobe staple for many.

Gone were the relaxed military inspirations of recent collections. This was more about refinement. And adventurous color; along with the lavenders and sky blues, we saw melon, lipstick red, and crayon yellow. But really, out of everything, I can’t stop thinking about that fit and flare trench.

KARL LAGERFELD & DIET COKE COLLABO 2011

Karl Lagerfeld is once again collaborating with Diet Coke to make the iconic bottles more fashionable. Last year the limited edition box set featured his famous silhouette on the bottle accompanied with a bottle-opener discreetly hidden in a drawer. For 2011, Karl has created three iconic bottles once again featuring his silhouette but this time wrapped in three different prints. According to Glam UK, “Karl took inspiration from the Diet Coke heroines- Bernadette, Eleanor and Irene. Polka dots match Bernadette’s romanticism, swishy swirls for Eleanor’s fashion forward stance and rock drama to tally with Irene’s persona.” The ad campaign once again features Coco Rocha but this time accompanied with Heidi Mount and Jeneil Williams, photographed by Karl himself. Can’t wait to see that! Look out for the bottles this June. LOVE EM ALL!!

LADY GAGA WILL WRITE FOR V MAGAZINE !!

Lady Gaga is trading in her mic for the pen???!!!

The provocative pop star has landed a gig as a columnist with high fashion mag V. Her musings will appear monthly, with the first one scheduled for the May 12th release of issue V71, the Summer 2012 issue. No word yet on what she’ll write about (blood? semen?) but she is asking her Little Monsters for help. According to Stylecaster, Gaga is looking to her fans to illustrate her “styled as an editrix” for the image that will accompany her column. You didn’t think that Gaga would submit one of those black & white, head-tilted semi-smiling on vacation-type contributor photos did you?

So you want to give it a try? Here’s what you need to know:

Fans have until this Sunday, April 3rd to submit their rendering of Gaga to the “Drawn this Way” contest at drawnthisway@vmagazine.com. All mediums–sculpture, watercolors, human hair
(I’m kidding lol, but you never know what will work)–will be accepted. And don’t worry if you don’t make the cut this round–the contest will continue for every issue. Good Luck 😉

The Latest: Dior Won’t Announce John Galliano’s Replacement Until the Fall!!!

When when when?!? When will LVMH name John Galliano’s successor at Dior???

Hold your horses, fashionites. You’re not going to get your answer until the fall, according to our reputable sources.

While the front runner is still Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci, we hear that the company is holding off naming anyone for two major reasons. 1. John Galliano still hasn’t been formally fired. (His contract must be legally dissolved.) 2. LVMH doesn’t want any announcement on the future of the brand to overshadow this season. If editors are in a tizzy over Galliano’s replacement, who will shoot Dior for covers? Who will wear it on the red carpet?

Indeed, those on the mastheads don’t really have a choice: Dior is a major, major advertiser, which means they will be shooting it regardless of what Galliano did.

On more sordid fronts, I continue to hear rumors from within the House of Dior that John Galliano’s demise was partially set-up. Hmmmm….Do with that what you will.

Jessica Simpson’s Sportswear Line Launches This Fall, Stand-Alone Stores to Follow

The Jessica Simpson brand, which began with a humble line of Steve Madden-esque shoes and then expanded to jeans, accessories, and coats, will blast stores with a full range of sportswear this fall that targets customers of all ages. “Moms and their daughters would be buying it at the same time,” says Vince Camuto, who owns all the licenses for the label. He projects that they’ll make $1 billion in retail sales by the end of 2012, which the Simpson family will get royalties from. And that’s not the end of it: Camuto has visions of opening freestanding stores that will sell all of the above, plus bridalwear, fine jewelry, and home goods like plates and wastebaskets.

If you suspect that Jessica is just a famous figurehead along for the ride, then you’d be mostly right, but that seems to be fine with everyone involved. Says Camuto: “We’re not looking to exploit her. We’re not just looking for a quick buck … The customer sees Jessica Simpson with great product, day in and day out, at a great price. That’s what makes it a success.” Not to mention, Simpson seems to genuinely like the clothes. “She talks about it, she wears the product,” Camuto says. Which is the best one can usually hope for when it comes to celebrity clothing labels.

EXCLUSIVE :Opening Ceremony x Lane Crawford

I love Opening Ceremony collaborations and looks like they’ve tapped yet another partner, this time with Lane Crawford. The entire Lane Crawford store will be curated by a specially appointed partner and features an assortment of celebrated designers, artistic collaborators and cult-famous partners. Also Opening Ceremony will launch an exclusive “Opening Ceremony x Lane Crawford” Capsule Collection featuring its best-selling items refashioned in new fabrics and colors.

The occasion also marks the first-time launch of unique three-way collaborations between Opening Ceremony, Lane Crawford and key fashion brands — with special items including an Alexander Wang striped T-shirt, Band of Outsiders’ ties, dresses by Carven and Suno, plus Pamela Love skull necklaces.

To celebrate this collaboration, Opening Ceremony’s founders, Carol Lim and Humberto Leon, will be hosting a launch party at the Lane Crawford store in Hong Kong on April 14th and the Lane Crawford Beijing store on April 16th.

Wish I had time to fly out to Hong Kong for the party (sigh) 😦
