Brian Atwood’s New Lower-Priced Shoe Collection

Brian Atwood has kept his new contemporary line B Brian Atwood mostly under wraps, until now. The collection has hit Saks.comon pre-order, with placement in stores following Aug. 25.

A look at the full offering of pumps and boots — which ranges $275 for ballet flats to $995 for leopard print knee-high boots — plus, a peek at the collection’s ad campaign, inspired by the 1981 film Body Heat.

A&F Offers The Situation Six Figures To Stop Wearing Their Clothes

Well this is a new one: Abercrombie & Fitch has offered The Situation cold hard cash (and lots of it) to stop wearing their clothing, WWD reports.

Apparently, the teen aspirational brand is not a fan of The Situation‘s drunken escapades and creepy hook-up tactics (who would have thought!?) and say they are “deeply concerned that Mr. Sorrentino’s association with our brand could cause significant damage to our image.”

Now we know what you’re thinking: Does this mean we have to see even more of The Situation’s shirtless body? But no, thankfully the deal with A&F will simply have The Sitch wearing an “alternate brand.”

A&F went on to say on their website that they “have also extended this offer to other members of the cast, and are urgently waiting a response.”

In other news, The Jersey Shore cast continue to down vodka shots, fist pump maniacally, stumble around drunk and…laugh all the way to the bank. Here’s to new ways to make money! Crazy huh?!

EXCLUSIVE: SNEAK PEAK SPRING 2012 SHOES AND HANDBAGS

Bruno Frisoni for Roger Vivier Spring 2012

Here’s a little preview of some of the shoes and bags designers plan to send down the runway for Spring 2012, and not a moment too soon; our Fashion Week anticipation is mounting by the day. Thanks to WWD — who’ve just posted a selection of Spring 2012 accessories sketches from some of our favorite designers — the wait just got a little easier. From the looks of it, one thing is certain: Spring 2012 will have no shortage of vertiginous, strappy shoes. I can’t wait 😉

Cheap Monday Collection — for Spring 2012

Ann-Sofie Back debuted her fourth collection as Cheap Monday creative director last week during Stockholm Fashion Week. “It’s about the time when our parents were young and rebellious, an idealistic time,” Back explained of the light, bright, and striped Spring 2012 collection. “The styling is a punk clash, we’ve mixed up the styling. It’s very much a DIY attitude and a punk attitude, being young, naïve and playful.”

More Sex and the City Rumors….

Could Sex and the City be returning to the small screen? Based on the latest crop of rumors, that’s the new plan. The reported series would hit the boob tube before any Sex and the City prequel film–you know, that one that was supposedly cast with Elizabeth Olsen, Blake Lively, Selena Gomez and Emma Roberts set to play younger versions of the four ladies.

No word yet on who will make up the small screen cast. However, one pretty huge name was mentioned in this morning’s Daily Mail report: Sarah Jessica Parker. The former Carrie Bradshaw who, with some time freed up since ditching her Halston gig, has allegedly signed on to produce.

Of course, none of this has been confirmed by Darren Star or any of the people supposedly involved in it. However, the Los Angeles Times reported earlier this month, with a fair degree of certainty, that a prequel series was happening with HBO behind it.

I always felt that one of the biggest problems with the Sex and the City movies was that Sex and the City just doesn’t work as a movie. The characters and premises just work better as a TV show. Whether this prequel version will work remains to be seen–but if HBO and Parker really are behind it, it could be possible. We’re still a little nervous about those ’80s costumes, though.

FASHION’S NIGHT OUT 2011

Fashion’s Night Out round three promises to be the biggest yet. Stores in over 250 cities across the US and overseas are scheduled to participate in the Vogue-helmed retail fest, and this year over 200 e-tailers will join in on the fun so those not living in or near a participating city can throw down plastic and score some deals too.

September 8 looms ever closer and Fashionsnightout.com has just unveiled a master list of events hosted by retailers across the country so you can start mapping out your shopping route now. (And we mean that literally–the site allows you to “add events” to your “night out” and plots them on a map.)

We scoured the listings for all the most important information: which celebrities have signed on and what they’ll be doing, the craziest gimmicks, and where all your favorite designers will be so you can show them some love.

THE BOLDFACE NAMES

It’s no surprise that the biggest retailers draw the biggest names. Here’s a look at what Bergdorf’s, Saks, Macy’s and Bloomies have in store for their NYC flagships come September 8.

Bergdorf Goodman
– Michael Kors will make an appearance in Bergdorf’s famed Fifth Avenue windows to celebrate 30 years of being stocked at the specialty retailer.
– As much as we love us some MK, we’re almost more excited about the designer dog show. Designers Alexandra Vidal, Badgley Mischka, Bibhu Mohapatra, Cushnie & Ochs, John Barrett, Joseph Altuzarra, Kimberly McDonald, Laurance Dacade, Lela Rose, Nicholas Varney, Pamella Roland, Reem Acra and Wes Gordon will strut their stuff accompanied by their canine companions while Marchesa designers Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig, Santiago Gonzalez, and The BagSnob’s Tina Craig judge their efforts.
– Oscar de la Renta will be there to sign his limited-edition “Face of Fashion” fall kaleidoscope palette by Le Métier de Beauté.
– Indie pop singer Audrianna Cole will perform.

Bloomingdale’s
– Rachel Zoe will be on hand to celebrate the launch of her new contemporary line.
– Erin Wasson will make an appearance alongside her capsule collection for French retailer Zadig & Voltaire.
– Edun founder Ali Hewson (aka Bono’s wife) is hosting some truth or lie game where she and a special guest tell shoppers a story and they have decide whether it’s the truth or a lie. WWD muses that the special guest might be Bono himself.

Macy’s
Macy’s Herald Square location is really throwing down this year:
– Appearances by: Tommy Hilfigger, Coco Rocha (she might help you shop the Karl Lagerfeld for Macy’s collection!), Sandra Lee, ANTM‘s Miss J, Bobbi Brown, “INC Editor at Large” Anna Dello Russo who will be joined by Karolina Kurkova, Rachel Roy and Amar’e Stoudemire (they’ll introduce their collaboration for Roy’s lower priced line) and we think Diddy. Here’s the description: “Hang out in Sean John’s FNO Club Room! With any XXX purchase, receive a special VIP bracelet to take a turn against Diddy in the ultimate game of billiards.” So that sounds like you could maybe shoot pool with Diddy, right?
– Performances by: Joss Stone, Kelly Rowland, and a Gucci Guilty dance party DJed by Samantha Ronson.

Saks Fifth Avenue
– Quite a motley crew here: the magical mystical Tilda Swinton will join Pringle of Scotland designer Alistair Carr and Central Saint Martins’ Louise Wilson for a “special event,” Ne-Yo will sign hats from his line and perform, and Prabal Gurung will be there too.

CRAZY GIMMICKS

New York is the birthplace of Fashion’s Night Out and it’s still the celeb-laden focal point of the event. But since 249 other cities are involved this year they’re doing some extreme things to get attention.

– You can strut North America’s longest runway at Dallas’ Galleria Dallas.
– Newbury Street in Boston will close to traffic for the first time in 15 years so FNO shoppers can browse without worrying about getting hit by a car…
– In DC’s Georgetown neighborhood an FNO-branded hot air balloon will float above shoppers and, according to the release, “a secret flash mob may spring up at any moment.”

BEST OF THE REST

– Unfortunately you can’t escape the Real Housewives, Kelly Killoren Bensimon and LuAnn de Lesseps who will be at New York & Company’s 58th street store-News you can use. Plan your route accordingly.

– Fashion darling Solange Knowles has left Opening Ceremony for Lord and Taylor; she’ll spin at their Fifth Ave. store.

– Jessica Stam will be stationed at Roger Vivier where she’ll inspire you to “channel your inner model” at their “StudioBooth.” I think that’s a fancy way of saying photo booth.

– Tattoos–done in Swarovski crystals (at Swarovski), gold glitter (at Tiffany’s), henna (courtesy DVF’s Home Indian Temple collection at Bloomingdale’s) and real ink (at Belle by Sigerson Morrison), will be available

– No word yet on what Opening Ceremony has in store but you can bet they’ll bring it.

Which stores will you be hitting up on September 8?

Barneys New York and Lady Gaga are two of my favorite things, so this collabo is so exciting to me!!!! Barneys announced today their Holiday 2011 campaign, GAGA’S WORKSHOP, bringing together renowned creative talents including artists: Eli Sudbrack and Christophe Hamaide Pierson of Assume Vivid Astro Focus (AVAF), and Mugler Creative Director and Lady Gaga Fashion Director, Nicola Formichetti, to create Lady Gaga’s interpretation of the iconic Santa’s Workshop.

“For the first time ever, Barneys New York will convert an entire floor of its Madison Avenue flagship in New York City into a dedicated space for the holiday initiative. Starting in mid-November, GAGA’S WORKSHOP will be brought to life throughout the fifth floor of the Men’s Store at the Madison Avenue flagship, and will also be supported in the store’s iconic Madison Avenue windows.

Barneys New York has worked closely with Lady Gaga under the creative direction of Nicola Formichetti to design a range of exclusive, limited-edition, small gift items, which will be available for a limited time only at GAGA’S WORKSHOP. In addition to GAGA’S WORKSHOP in New York, a selection of items from the collection will also be available at Barneys New York locations nationwide and online at Barneys.com. Barneys New York will donate 25% of sales from all items featured in GAGA’S WORKSHOP to a charity of Lady Gaga’s choice in honor of this special program and in the spirit of the holiday season.”

8 Fall-Perfect Lip Colors to Try Now

This may just be the season of the lip. Though there was no shortage of super pale nudes on the Fall 2011 runways (think Chloé, Jason Wu, Chanel, and Yves Saint Laurent), there were plenty of more dramatic hues on display as well. From the intensely dark shades spotted at Gucci and Custo Barcelona to the vibrant brights seen at Jil Sander (left) and Nina Ricci, Fall 2011 offers a lip color for everyone — and every mood. Click through to see 8 of the prettiest lip colors of the season. Personally, I love reds and fuschias to liven up any outfit. 😉
