In a month or so, Versace’s H&M collection will hit stores. We’ve gotten a glimpse of the goods — which will be paraded in full on Nov. 8 during a runway show in New York. Now, the campaign has started popping up, featuring Versace favorites Daphne Groeneveld, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Lindsey Wixson, and Sasha Pivovarova — all blonde — styled by Joe McKenna and photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.
I love the Converse x Marimekko collection, so happy that they’re releasing a Holiday 2011 collection. The shoes are decked out in Marimekko’s signature bold prints in festive holiday colors and styles. The styles includes the Jack Purcell Helen, the Chuck Taylor All Star and the Chuck Taylor All Star PJ shoe.
Prints selected for the holiday collaboration include both timeless Marimekko classics as well as newer designs created by influential Marimekko designers Maija Isola and Maija Louekari. The Unikko print, Marimekko’s iconic bright poppy flower pattern originally from 1964 by Maija Isola appears in the collection in a new coloring created by Maija’s daughter Kristina Isola. Maija Isola is also the designer behind the Paprika (bell pepper) pattern, originally from 1965, presented in a fascinating purple-cream colorway, and the more delicate Varpunen (sparrow) print from 1966 that appears in the shoes in a sophisticated navy-silver tone. The Poni (pony) print by Maija Louekari in black-silver and black-white colorways offers a strong graphic alternative in the Converse x Marimekko holiday collection that otherwise features a captivating tonal color palette fit for the season.
The Converse x Marimekko collection will be available nationwide and globally at premium retail outlets and online at http://www.converse.com beginning this month.
Chuck Taylor All Star
The classic Chuck Taylor All Star shoes get hit with a splash of color for the holiday season. The Paprika print adorns the Chuck Taylor All Star High shoe in rich purple and cream. The Chuck Taylor All Star Ox is available in two prints. With the perfect amount of sophistication for the season, the Varpunen pattern is featured in navy and silver and the Poni print in black and white.

Chuck Taylor All Star PJ
Slim and sleek, the Chuck Taylor All-Star PJ shoe returns to the Converse x Marimekko collection for the holidays. The PJ is available in the Poni print in black and silver.

Last season for Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs sent his models to the runway in caged elevators complete with uniformed operators to open the doors. Kate Moss closed the show while smoking a cigarette. You might have thought (like I thought), ‘Well, he’ll never top that.” But you’d be wrong.
For Louis Vuitton’s spring 2012 collection, amidst rumors that this will be his last collection for the house before he takes the reins at Dior, Jacobs set his show on a fully operating CAROUSEL! The carousel was covered by a white curtain, so when the show started just before it’s scheduled start time at 10 a.m. and the curtain dropped, so did everyone’s jaws and an audible gasp ran through throughout audience. One by one models hopped off their horses and walked the round runway. Kate Moss, once again, closed the show, looking ethereal in a white sequined feathered broderie anglaise dress.
It’s time to face the cold, hard facts: Winter is coming. And no, we’re not talking about Game of Thrones. There’s no amount of denial that can stop the mercury for doing its slow descent down the thermostat. Instead of huddling into the fetal position with your used-up bottle of sunscreen, join us while we face the cold front by doing what we love doing most: shopping! A new fall coat makes the cold all the more bearable, and this season’s selections are chock-full of warm, sleek options. From super-trendy varsity jackets to coats that’ll make Santa’s red suit look sepia in comparison, here are the coolest coats that’ll make dripping boots, icicle hair, and chapped lips all worth it.
