Imagining a city girl headed down to Miami for Art Basel in December, Marc Jacobs served up three different versions of florals — “day floral,” “beach floral,” and “evening floral”; polka dots in many shapes and sizes; and lipstick red looks for her to pack alongside her ubiquitous spectacles. Otherwise notable for the Resort 2012 collection, Jacobs’s switch in his usual approach from separates to full looks.

Sofia Coppola has collaborated with Louis Vuitton on a capsule collection of shoes and bags in the past, but for the brand’s Resort 2012 collection, her sphere of influence was taken a bit further. Coppola chose the venue for the presentation — the Pool Room of the Four Seasons Hotel in New York — and served as”official muse” for the collection — which was based on her personal style — consulting on all areas of design.
“Oh my God, for me it’s really fun,” Coppola said. “I’m happy to give my opinion of, I wish I could have this or that.” The collection’s Eiffel Tower print, for instance, is a nod to her current hometown of Paris. “I told [Vuitton design director Julie De Libran] I want a new wardrobe,” Coppola added — and thus, the collection is based on her favorite shapes, including a denim tunic dress.
Yesterday, Hermès heads were tripping on Moda Operandi’s 27-strong bag sale. Today, it’s O.D. territory, big-time—Bryanboy posted some candy-colored photos of Robert Verdi’s Vans. The stylist got the shoe company to customize his kicks using some of his old Hermès silk scarves. Here’s when I’m get jealous. I would die for these…… which is your fav?
The only way I like bugs, as my jewelry! Accompanying the arrival of warmer weather is its uninvited guest, the pesky insect. This summer, I’m switching gears and welcoming the non-living version, Meredith Kahn’s bug-inspired jewelry designs for the Made Her Think collaboration with designer Mandy Coon. The collection consists of four beetle-like black gunmetal and Rhodium-based pieces (a ring, necklace, small and large brooches), some with leather snakeskin and Swarovski crystal detail in ruby, greige, emerald, and jet hermatite. While beetles are mostly harmless, the menacing horns and edgy details take a walk (or fly) on the darker side, characteristic with both MHT and Mandy Coon’s style. The collection was shown alongside Mandy Coon’s fall ’11 line at Lincoln Center during Fashion Week and will be shipping this summer. Better scoop up these buggy accessories in the pre-sale because style junkies are sure to be swarming. The pieces start at $223 and will be available on Bonadrag and Eva NY, and for pre-sale here.
Easy-to-wear separates in an easy-on-the-eyes palette permeate the Z Spoke Resort 2012 offering. The inky palette and subdued mood that were the hallmark of the Fall 2011 Z Spoke collection have lightened up a bit, giving way to a selection of pieces that hit a slightly more playful note: a cherry red silk anorak with a drawstring peplum-waist; a pale blue wide-leg pantsuit in slubby tweed; and plenty of sweet fit-n-flare frocks in all kinds of chiffon and polka dots. It’s a youthful outing for Posen, and one that’s perfectly reflected in his choice of lookbook model — Lindsey Wixson. This collection is def a must have for the working fashionista 😉
I love MAC cosmetics and when I heard that they were coming out with this collection, I love them a little bit more. Conviently packaged for easy travel use and God knows how much I love to travel. Son on my next overseas trip I will be packing light along with my new MAC goodies. 🙂

I WANT !!!! Converse and Marimekko first collaborated last season, due to popular demand they’re back with a fall collection! The collection features the Chuck Taylor All Star and the Jack Purcell shoe, prints selected for Fall 2011 were created by the well-known Marimekko master Maija Isola as well as Marimekko’s young rising talent Maija Louekari. The collection features the most famous Marimekko print of all time, the Unikko design, the Paprika pattern, and also entirely new Marimekko prints designed for Converse are the Kaleidoskooppi and Poni patterns by Maija Louekari. Kaleidoskooppi, inspired by a kaleidoscope, and Poni, based on an image of round, plump hoof prints left by a small pony.
The Converse ♥ Marimekko collection will be available nationwide and globally at premium retail outlets beginning in June 2011 and online at www.converse.com on June 23, 2011.

Super-saturated, shimmery green tones were all the rage at the Jason Wu Spring 2011 show. Models sported two-tone washes — colorblock for the eyes, if you will. Use a lighter shade in the inside corner to make eyes appear extra-wide.

White Wash
Prabal Gurung sent models down his Spring 2011 runway in this matte, ethereal shade. To keep the look dreamy and avoid looking washed-out, be sure to accentuate your brows. A shimmery white shadow brushed on the tops of cheekbones also helps adds dimension.

Not for the faint of heart. Nina Ricci’s Spring 2011 show boasted models in hot fuschia shadow. It’s a look that seems surprisingly chic, especially when paired with a squeaky-clean skin. The trick to looking bright-eyed rather than sleepy-eyed? Line eyes with black before applying the pink, and add mascara liberally.
