From V’s Asian Issue to the pages of Vogue UK, stylists and photographers are looking east for inspiration. I blame it on Marc Jacobs’ SS11 show for Louis Vuitton, but economists may blame it on the booming market in Asia. Whatever the reason, nothing is more en voguethan referencing the far east.

Gisele Bundchen Launches Her Own Lingerie Line
Why have a Victoria’s Secret contract when you can have your own lingerie line??? Gisele Bundchen, who left her Angel wings behind in 2007, has launched Gisele Bundchen Intimates with Brazilian company Hope, set to hit 2,000 stores May 25. Bundchen kicked off the collaboration with a runway show in Sao Paulo last night, festooned in oversized bows and feather headdresses remniscent of a VS runway.

Revealed: Chanel’s Fall 2011 Nail Colors
You long ago gave up trying to find Chanel’s must-have spring color, Black Pearl. And Mimosa is probably on the endangered species list. Well, don’t worry about it. It’s time to freak out over the new fall Chanel nail colors.
Chanel introduced Graphite on its Fall 2011 runway back in March, but this is the first time we’ve seen other colors from the collection. Sophy Robson, who is a UK-based nail artist and runs my new favorite nail art site, got her well-manicured hands on the lacquers and was kind enough to post pictures of them. Are you just dying over the Peridot? SWOON!!!….. 🙂
THE STYLISH MESSANGER BAG FOR SPRING 2011

It’s no secret that the Proenza Shoulder PS1 bag is the holy grail of messenger bags.
But with a hefty price tag ranging from $895 to $14,500, ample storage space and utilitarian design it only makes sense that Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough’s masterpiece is a closet staple for the likes of Leighton Meester, Kirsten Dunst and Chloë Sevigny.
But for us common folk, there’s hope!
I’ve rounded up some of the best heavy-duty bags that hold more than just Tic Tacs and credit cards. You will instantly up your sartorial game by grabbing one when you head to work — bonus points if you’ve scheduled happy hour plans after a day at the office.
Carrie Chapman, senior buyer at Barneys New York says, “we’ve been seeing a lot of the ‘urban warrior’ trend, and crossbody styles are a big part of that.” She added, “They are functional and edgy, and can be very sophisticated.”
So,whether you’re a student looking for a stylish alternative to a book bag, or just a gal in need a cross-body purse that you could practically live out of, there’s something for everybody. Happy shopping ladies 😉
BAG SNOB X DKNY

DKNY has partnered with one of the leading authorities on handbag trends, Bag Snob, to create a limited edition collection titled “The Five Essentials,” set to debut for Resort 2011.
The relationship began in 2009, when DKNY PR girl (the brand’s Twitter personality) noticed a less than flattering tweet by Bag Snob. Rather than ignore the taunt, DKNY responded, “Haven’t you ever taken a picture of yourself that just doesn’t do you justice?” And instead of a predicable Twitter brawl, the two hashed out their differences and a seriously stylish relationship was born. (Turns out Bag Snob has been a fan of Donna Karan’s work the entire time.)
Nearly three years later the duo is premiering a line of handbags whose purpose is to fill in any wardrobe gaps a woman may have: The Travel, unassuming on the outside but filled with practical pockets on the inside; The Treasure, a ladylike purse that evokes old Hollywood glamour; The Tote, a roomy number in versatile black and navy; The Clutch, which is the perfect size for a evening on the town and features metallic sequins; and The Trendy, a leopard-printed handbag with chain-link details.
While each piece is much different from the next, there are a few common traits found among them: Each is designed with Snob-approved details — pale-gold metal feet, branded Bag Snob x DKNY raspberry jacquard nylon lining, removable shiny pale gold hangtags and outside pockets for speedy access.
Like what you see? Then head over to DKNY’s Facebook page anytime between today and June 3 to pre-reserve. The collection will hit shelves at select retailers in October.
Soludos X Opening Ceremony Collaboration
Collaborations are all too common these days, but when we discovered that Soludos founder Nick Brown was teaming up with Opening Ceremony, we knew this wasn’t just any old capsule collection.
The retailer is a fan favorite of trendsetters like Alexa Chung, Diane Kruger and Zoe Kravitz. In the past, Opening Ceremony has collaborated with Chloë Sevigny, Spike Jonze, Pendleton, Levi’s, Timberland, Keds, Rodarte and more. It comes as no surprise that they tapped Brown — the New York native is a travel junkie, with a knack for updating the traditional espadrille.
What is the story behind your line and why did you choose the name Soludos?
Nick Brown: I grew up spending summers in Spain as a kid, wearing classic jute soled espadrilles the whole time, and they’ve been on my feet ever since. They are such a summer staple in Europe but it used to be impossible to find a good pair in my current hometown of New York City. We launched Soludos in select retailers last summer in New York, Los Angeles, and the Hamptons and then down under in Australia last September.
My favorite times of the summer involve a few friends gathered over casual drinks on a lazy summer afternoon, so I wanted to try to capture that feeling in a name and to give a nod to the Spanish heritage of the shoes. With that, “saludos,” the Spanish word for “cheers,” and “sol” for sun were combined, and “Soludos” was born!

How did the Opening Ceremony collaboration come about?
NB: I met with the folks at Opening Ceremony a year ago and we did a small collection of black velvet Soludos for the opening of their store at the Ace Hotel in New York. They are an incredibly cool and creative group, always eager to put a twist on the conventional and traditional way of doing things. So for this summer they designed some beautiful bold exotic print fabrics for an exclusive collection of Soludos espadrilles for Opening Ceremony stores.
What are your travel essentials?
NB: Canon G12 camera, Olasul board shorts, Soludos shoes, a notepad and a kikoy.
What is the best purchase you have made while traveling?
NB: A rustic wooden backgammon board I bought on Elias Beach in Mykonos a few years back. I have won and lost countless games, spilled quite a few drinks, and shared so many laughs on that set. I take it everywhere with me.
Where is your favorite place to eat when you come home to NYC?
NB: Westville is a local gem in the West Village. They have simple, delicious food and fresh produce at an honest prices. Brinkley’s in Soho for a few beers and a quick bite is hard to beat.
What is your favorite summer destination?
NB: Definitely Mykonos, Greece. You can’t beat the energy on the White Island in June or July.
What is your soundtrack for the summer?
NB: Quite an eclectic mix, but this is what’s on my iPod at the moment:
“Miami” – Foals
“Do It Again” – The Beach Boys
“Satellite” – The Kills
“Need You Now” – Cut Copy
“Entre Dos Aguas” – Paco de Lucia
The Soludos x Opening Ceremony collection will retail for $30 and will hit the retailer’s top locations in NYC, Los Angeles, Japan and online at openingceremony.us.
Sarah Jessica Parker Puts on the Pearls for Cannes Film Festival
Remember when Carrie Bradshaw tried to live in France in the last season of Sex and the City, but returned to New York City because Big came and professed his love for her? Well, SATC star Sarah Jessica Parker is back in the country and wearing her Bradshaw best!
The fashionista let her hair down and threw on the pearls to go with her floor-length, flowing white embroidered dress as she dined at a restaurant in Antibes and later attended the Weinstein Company VIP Press Event. Parker is in France during the Cannes Film Festival along with a slew of other celebrities.
The actress must have just gotten to Europe as she was snapped earlier this week with hubby Matthew Broderick at the New York City Ballet Spring Gala. Parker looked glamorous with her hair pulled back in a long gown, while her date, Broderick, was in a classic tuxedo. The actress has been busy filming New Years Eve and I Don’t Know How She Does It around NYC.
H&M Magazine Spring 2011: Best Spring Looks

The new H&M Magazine Spring 2011 issue has a great spread of the “Best Spring Looks” featuring model Kasia Struss shot by Josh Olins and styles by Ludivine Poiblanc. “Fifties vs. Punk. Disco vs. Minimalism. Hip Hop vs. Boho.” H&M asks, which is your favorite choice? I’m going crazy over the red Balmain-inspired strong shoulder blazer (pictured), GETTING IT!! 😉
