Prabal Gurung’s Full J.Crew Collection — Now Available Online!

Prabal Gurung’s six-piece collaboration with J.Crew — which features looks from his past collections recreated in new colors and materials —launches online and in select stores today. The collection ranges from $198 for a pair of tuxedo trousers to $450 for a tulle rose top with a mesh back, and only 50 pieces were created for some of the designs.

“I played with volume and scale and focused on a few special pieces with a story to tell — it’s very modern, chic, and put-together, but there’s also a lived-in quality,” Gurung said of the collection. “There’s a subtext and sub-layers to the designs we chose for J.Crew,” he noted, adding: “I worked closely with the J.Crew team to determine the looks that would translate well with both of our audiences. They did a stellar job producing each piece and I could not be happier with how everything turned out.”

Eddie Borgo’s J.Crew collaboration, meanwhile, hits in July .

Exploding Bow Blouse, $225

“It makes such a strong statement, it needs that balance,” Gurung says, suggesting the satin top be worn over a pencil skirt or with a pair of wide-leg, really worn-in jeans.

Fit to be Tied Pant ($198)

Of the silk-striped tuxedo trousers, Gurung says: “There’s nothing sexier than a really intelligent girl with many layers to her . . . I think these pants have that same quality. There’s a story to tell.”

Rampant Rose Top ($450)

Gurung says of the tulle and satin top: “I was just playing around with the tulle making these rosettes, and I loved the contrast with the sheer mesh back.”

Exploding Bow Dress, $395

Of the satin dress, Gurung says: “I played with the volume and proportions of the bow — if you look closely it’s a little bit off kilter, which gives it that lived-in quality that’s so important.”

Exploding Bow Blouse, $225

Bow-dacious Denim Jacket ($400) and Strong Seamed Denim Pant ($295)

“I wanted the bow lapel to look like it could come completely undone,” Gurung says. “She goes out in this very chic, pretty package and at the end of the evening, her shirt’s unbuttoned and the lapel unravels . . . it tells a little story.” He suggests wearing it with the matching pant or a pair of really lived-in trousers for that “uptown/downtown balance — that’s what makes the clothes interesting.”

Exploding Bow Dress, $395

Gurung on how to wear it: “Every woman needs a perfect little shift dress — she can wear it to work with a little jacket and then out at night and still feel totally comfortable.”

SPRING/ SUMMER TREND: CUFF BRACELETS

Low Luv by Erin Wasson Welded Cuff, $100, available at The Trend Boutique.

I love to have a little fun with a cuff on my wrist (I’m talking the PG-rated, non-criminal kind, thank you lol). I’m welcoming everything from dainty, slender options to bracelets that should come with warnings, like to wear sunscreen for tan-line prevention or to be extra-cautious when speaking with your hands. Statement rings or necklaces may be great, but I suggest mixing it up with a little arm candy that takes center stage. Look through my top picks of the cuffs you wish you could get locked up in. 😉

nOir Jewelry for Pirates of the Caribbean

I previewed this line a little while ago and couldn’t show you guys any pics 😦 but finally I’m able to show you guys some of this great collection that I’ve been dying for. From the bracelets, to the earrings to the necklaces it all looks like it was made for me. 🙂 I’m super excited to get my hands on every piece.

For the collaboration, designer Leeora Catalan drew inspiration from On Stranger Tides, but also added elements that are found in each of the films in the blockbuster franchise. In addition, many of the pieces are meant to be unisex, evident in the brushed silver metal that is used throughout the collection. The elegantly dark collection features skulls adorned with nOir’s signature pave, elaborate mermaid skeletons, and fuses iconic Pirate imagery of swords, daggers, skeleton keys, shark teeth and pearls. A pirate ship full finger ring bends at the knuckle and sails full mast.

The collection will be available at department stores, high end specialty boutiques, and online retailers ranging from $60 to $625 retail. Select pieces will be available on endless.com and for pre-order on the nOir Jewelry website beginning May 23rd. I’M GOING CRAZY FOR EVERY PIECE ! HOW ABOUT YOU GUYS 🙂

Sarah Jessica Parker Considering Third Sex And The City Movie!!!!

Please be true: In yesterday’s news, Marie Claire UK  is reporting that Sarah Jessica Parker isn’t quite through with Carrie Bradshaw and is “pondering” a third installment of the Sex And The City movie. SJP has revealed that SATC 3 could move forward, saying there’s still “one more small, important story to tell” (Carrie’s pregnant anyone?). Producers won’t deny or confirm the rampant rumors, leaving us wondering if Blake Lively could actually play a younger Bradshaw. Ican’t even begin to imagine where the girls will go this time. I am super excited for this news, how about you guys 🙂 ?

I’m L-O-V-I-N-G Pamela Love For Topshop *_*

How many times can I say “love” in an article? Start counting now—I’m seriously in bat-shit crazy love with Pamela Love’s May 2011 collection for Topshop. In her first collaboration for the retail chain, hitting stores May 26, the NY-based jeweler re-visited familiar (and beloved) territory, mining her signature South and Native American motifs for pieces that are aimed for a slightly younger customer—with a price-point to match. Perfect to add some statement to your summer jewel box, the entire range was inspired by ’70s “Gypsy Rockers,” a theme evident in dark metals, lots of hearts, feathers, and, Aztec-ish chains and studs that bring to mind a mythical St. Mark’s Place in Mexico. For Pamela, it was a match made in accessory heaven: “I think Topshop is one of the most creative, fashion forward companies…It’s one of my favorite stores!” Mine too—even more so now.

EXCLUSIVE: Madewell’s Entire Fall 2011 Lookbook

I got to preview Madewell’s Fall collection a month ago and now I can finally show you why I’m craving the cold. Here is the brand’s full perfectly disheveled layer-tastic English prep school-esque collection for fall. There are some girly-er items too–pleated skirts and maxis but paired with tough worn-in brown leather belts and thick blazers. And there’s good news for your white jeans, too: if Madewell has anything to do with it, you’ll be wearing them right through summer into fall.
