MUST HAVES: Fall Accessories Trend 2011

You know how one piece can make or break an outfit? Most times, that piece is an accessory. A well-picked bag, necklace, and shoe can elevate a run-of-the-mill look, and a tacky one can take an ensemble from winning to weird. This season, the accessories have been spot-on and universally wearable, with colorful, statement pieces really taking the limelight. Choose preppy, tasseled shoes or jewelry that could cut you… Check out the five accessory trends to buy into this season!

The Best Of London Fashion Week 2011

London fashion week is over, seemingly in the blink of an eye. But before Milan swoops in and steals all the glory,I wanted to give a shout out to the 10 collections I loved most in London. Brit designers gave us a lot of pastel and florals, a lot of color, and a lot of cheekiness.

Look below  to see the ten best spring 2012 collections from across the pond.

Drool- Worthy Miu Miu Glitter Pumps

I’ve already done my fair share of swooning over Miu Miu’s glittery booties (saw them everywhere during New York fashion week #jealous) and now they’ve released their new glitter pumps–you know, the ones that were all up in Hailee Steinfeld‘s hair in Miu Miu’s fall campaign? If Dorothy went to fashion week she’d definitely be wearing these.

Here are some pretty up close shots of Miu Miu’s ruby slippers for you to gaze longingly at. If they must be yours, they’ll set you back $650. Or you can just click your heels three times…

Which color would you pick?

Starbucks® + Alexander Wang Unisex Tee

Alexander Wang, Sophie Theallet and Billy Reid have each won a CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award in the past three years, and the talented designers are no doubt in high demand for collaborative projects. So who has the powerhouse trio decided to partner with? None other than coffee-giant Starbucks.

In one of the most unlikely collaborations we’ve ever heard of, Wang, Theallet and Reid have all designed limited-edition tees in celebration of Starbucks’ 40th birthday. Each tee will be sold in-stores as well as online and, like everything else Starbucks produces, they will feature the instantly-recognizable logo of the brand (albeit slightly hidden).

According to InStyle, Alexander Wang said of his design, “The first thing we thought of was what everyone tries to avoid—spilled coffee on a T-shirt.” Indeed, after seeing the t-shirt (above), it certainly looks like something we’d want to avoid.

If you’re into stains though, you can purchase the cotton tee at http://www.starbucksstore.com for $85. Or, for free, you could just spill your morning cup of jo on yourself tomorrow. Your call. 😉

Warner Bros Gossip Girl X Romeo & Juliet Couture Collaboration

For those of you that have been living under a rock, Romeo & Juliet Couture is a line to be seen and keep on watch. With beautiful fabrications and up to the minute stylish looks, it’s no surprise that Warner Bros would team up with them to do a collabo for Gossip Girl. The looks are very stylish, chic and of course very Gossip Girl inspired.

Romeo & Juliet Couture’s sophisticated “inspired by Gossip Girl” collection will feature designs inspired by the characters in the stylish and trend-setting series, including tops, dresses, bottoms and outerwear priced from $80 to $200, and will extend into handbags and accessories for the spring collection.

Thanks to my friend Deidre from Romeo & Juliet, I had the opportunity to be one of the first to view the line at Project in Vegas and was blown away by the collection! (see my pictures below)  Each piece is made with the characters in mind. I love it all !! XOXO

Club Monaco’s Fall 2011 Lookbook

Haylei Shearling Vest, Amber Sweater Jackie Skirt, Willow Hat

Club Monaco is on a bit of a Euro kick: not only did the brand recently open its first overseas store at Galeries Lafayette in Paris, but it’s also joined forces with Brit fashion glossy Dazed & Confused to create its latest lookbook. Photographed by Andrea Spotorno, the spread features Club Monaco’s ’70s-inspired Fall 2011 collection modeled on a host of international models and it girls: Anna Brewster, Sara Blomqvist, Elodie Bouchez, Lou Lesage, Bambou Gainsbourg, Valentine Fillol Cordier, and Man Repeller’s Leandra Medine. The lookbook will be published this month in Dazed & Confused‘s 20th-anniversary issue, but you can glean a little cold-weather style inspiration now by viewing the whole thing here below.

SNEAK PEAK: Christopher Kane x J Brand Collaboration for Resort 2012

Last year, when Christopher Kane and J Brand first teamed for the 5×5 project, there were hints that the partnership could span further. So it was no surprise when, this past Summer, the labelsannounced that they would again be collaborating — this time on a full jeanswear line for Kane’s Resort 2012 collection. Now, the first few images are finally out, courtesy of The Telegraph UK. The 17-piece collection features raw-edged flares, jean jackets, and capris — in Kane’s signature fluorescents — plus, classic cut-offs and straight-legs in a crisp palette of white, black, and faded blue. For his part, Kane seems quite happy with the team-up, saying, “J Brand are the go-to company for fashion denim, so I could not think of anyone better to work with on this. This is something that I can see as a potential long term relationship rather than a short term collaboration. My Resort collection was so much wider this season, and I think that the denim really complemented the collection.”

See below for a first look at the capsule, available online at Net-a-Porter this November. Prices start around $300.
