It’s no secret that the Proenza Shoulder PS1 bag is the holy grail of messenger bags.
But with a hefty price tag ranging from $895 to $14,500, ample storage space and utilitarian design it only makes sense that Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough’s masterpiece is a closet staple for the likes of Leighton Meester, Kirsten Dunst and Chloë Sevigny.
But for us common folk, there’s hope!
I’ve rounded up some of the best heavy-duty bags that hold more than just Tic Tacs and credit cards. You will instantly up your sartorial game by grabbing one when you head to work — bonus points if you’ve scheduled happy hour plans after a day at the office.
Carrie Chapman, senior buyer at Barneys New York says, “we’ve been seeing a lot of the ‘urban warrior’ trend, and crossbody styles are a big part of that.” She added, “They are functional and edgy, and can be very sophisticated.”
So,whether you’re a student looking for a stylish alternative to a book bag, or just a gal in need a cross-body purse that you could practically live out of, there’s something for everybody. Happy shopping ladies 😉
SOMETIMES IT’S HARD PICKING OUT WHAT TO WEAR… NOT WHEN YOU HAVE THE RIGHT WARDROBE…. GO TO SHOPBOP.COM FOR ALL THESE LOOKS 😉 GREAT IDEAS FOR OUTFIT BUILDING FOR SPECIFIC OCCASIONS.
Wake up your spring wardrobe with this season’s hottest trend: bright colored jeans. Cameron Diaz worked a salmon pair of Rag & Bones ($165 rag-bone.com), Anna Kendrick made a bold statement in kelly green Rag & Bones ($165 rag-bone.com) and Kim Kardashian stepped out in royal blue J Brand 811’s ($176, 323-852-5000).
Other celeb faves to try: Current/Elliott’s Ankle Skinny in Dahlia ($168, revolveclothing.com) and J Brand 811 in Bright Yellow ($176, ronherman.com). However, you don’t have to break the bank to rock this look. I found an awesome version from Dickies (remember them?!), which comes in hot pink, red and aqua. ($30, dickiesgirl.com)
Some pointers for pulling it off: First, stick to a skinny style so the bold color doesn’t overpower your look. Next, keep the rest of your outfit relatively simple. Think a classic white tee with a layered necklace. I also love a black leather jacket with bright jeans. As for accessories, try a nude pump, sandal or chic black bootie. At night you can experiment with a more colorful shoe. Remember, you want to keep the look about the jean, so don’t overdo the rest and have fun with it!

However, like all great things, these hotties will be gone before you know it so hurry in to Macy’s or visit macys.com/impulse to beat the crowd.
Forever 21 hosted its Fall 2011 installation at Skylight West yesterday with four of main categories that they’ll be offering in stores in a few months. First up is my fave, dark edgy rock ‘n’ roll looks; second is the Western, Navajo-inspired looks; third is the romantic, grannie-like looks; and lastly the 70s Boho looks. Really cute looks in each station, love all the props they had on display which was made by their in-house team in a month (amazing)! Guests were also welcome to take any of the trinkets and rings on display, it was like a little shopping spree- love Forever 21′s accessories. If you’re a fan of F21 like me, here’s a quick a sneak peek…
It’s true—I get a bit fanatical about nail polish. And now that the sun is finally shining and everyone’s donning their warm-weather attire, what better way to channel our need for a summer manicure fix than by showcasing the season’s freshest lacquers? I’ve got you covered with an awesome color wheel full of more than 30 totally transformative shades. So, instead of opting for your usual hues, get ready to kick up your digit decoration with a broad spectrum of brights (think true reds, eye-popping yellows, orange-infused corals, and sea-inspired turquoise blues), try on a gritty green, or go beyond the pale with an earthy neutral. Also included in my nail polish wheel of fortune: The top coat du jour—cracks in every color. Because when it comes to nails, nothing is really off-limits, so give it a whirl!
Neutral Territory: Channelling all things organic and natural, we tracked down gray, iridescent, white, and beige hues that quietly proclaim a dignified nature and also represent a fresh start.

Designers set sail this season sending stylish, nautical fashions down the catwalk at every show from Junya Watanabe to Christian Dior. I can’t blame them—sharp stripes, fresh whites, and natural fabrics feel perfectly summer-ready. But whether it’s a ship-shape dress or a high-waisted pair of sailor pants you choose, just remember to go light on the theme—too many rope bracelets, and you might as well walk the plank as a fashion victim.
