EXCLUSIVE: The Entire Karl Lagerfeld for Macy’s Collection; Plus, A Peek at the Campaign

Finally, a look at Karl Lagerfeld‘s much-hyped capsule collection for Macy’s ‘Impulse’ department. Macy’s offered up a preview of the full line last night at a gallery space in SoHo wallpapered with black and white photos of the Kaiser looking awfully serious (as he usually does) and campaign images featuring the always-stunning Coco Rocha photographed by Lagerfeld in his library in Paris.

The 45 piece collection is comprised of flirty dresses–some feminine and floral, others crisper and more severe–thick tweedy separates (shorts and vests) and faux leather jackets. The simpler black and white dresses with sharp white collars stood out (they seemed the most Chanel-like) but my prediction is that the soft slouchy tees printed with Lagerfeld’s image, priced at $49, will fly off the racks.

“To me Macy’s is the perfect department store in the US where everybody can find what they’re looking for without ruining their budget,” Lagerfeld said in a release. The collection is priced between $50 to $170 and goes on sale at 235 Macy’s across the nation and on macys.com on August 31 (set a reminder).

Take a look. Do you love it? Do you hate it? Will you be camping outside Macy’s on August 30 ?

Karl Lagerfeld’s 45-piece limited-edition collection for Macy’s hits 235 of the retailer’s stores and online later this month — on Aug. 31. Take a look below…. 🙂

KARL LAGERFELD’S MACY COLLECTION: SPECIAL VIEWING

At a special viewing today, Macy’s gave the press an advance look at Karl Lagerfeld’s 45-piece limited-edition collection. The line debuts online and in over 200 stores on August 31st, but here is your first look at the campaign which features a girl you might know. Much more to come… 😉

EXCLUSIVE : Additional Pics Of Karl Lagerfeld For Macy’s

More sneak peeks of Karl Lagerfeld’s campaign for Macy’s were revealed yesterday, and today I have two sketches of the offerings the Kaiser has for America’s favorite department store. The two entities couldn’t seem to be more different, with one heading up two of the most high-brow (read: expensive) fashion houses in the world, and the other acting as the most ubiquitous mass, multi-brand shop in America. But, according to Macy’s vice president and fashion director Nicole Fischelis, the differences could be bridged: “We met with him and he knew who we wanted to reach. He gets it. He understands America very, very well.” Translation: the designs are extremely wearable, but still fashionable and may be a reach for department store regulars. They’re also way affordable, with the 45 styles ranging from $50 to $170. ‘The collection will be available on August 31 in almost 1/3 of all Macy’s locations. (WWD) I’m super excited 🙂

Here’s a First Look at Karl Lagerfeld’s Macy’s Collection

WWD ran a rumor today suggesting that Macy’s was about to reveal Karl Lagerfeld’s much-anticipated collection for the department store. I’ve yet to witness said reveal, but I did see a Karl for Macy’s dress in August’s Vogue, via the glossy’s Steal of the Month column. (True Blood‘s Deborah Ann Woll is modeling it.) In the interview, Lagerfeld explains that the looks are inspired by the dresses he became famous for at Chloe. Given he worked there in the ’70s and everyone’s very into that style right now, it’s only right that that would be his inspiration. Are you excited for the collection after seeing this first look?! 😉 I am.

Justin Bieber Will Be at Macy’s Herald Square This Thursday to Promote His New Fragrance Someday

Justin Bieber‘s highly anticipated fragrance launched yesterday at Macy’s! You can now own a Marc Jacobs rip-off bottle of your very own. There has been so much leading up to the release of Someday, from an experiment with scented dog tags, to a WWD announcement, to a commercial and ad campaign starring Dree Hemmingway, and Justin Bieber has just announced to his Twitter followers that he will be making a promotional appearance at Macy’s Herald Square tomorrow!

No word yet on what time the Biebs will be making his presence known, but that doesn’t matter. Gothamist reported there were already 15 people in line a mere hour after Bieber sent out the tweet 2 days ago!! This is going to bonkers, you guys!

Giambattista Valli To Design for Macy’s

Macy’s designer collaboration line Impulse continues to give Target’s Go International line a run for its money. Giambattista Valli is the latest designer to pair up with the mass retailer, according to a report in WWD. Even though Macy’s won’t confirm WWD’s report (they “do not comment on speculation”), I. hear from a reliable source that Valli is up next.

Valli’s collection for Macy’s is said to launch in November, following Karl Lagerfeld’s, which hits stores in September. Valli is the fourth designer to partner with Macy’s for their Impulse line–Kinder Aggugini was first up in January, followed by Matthew Williamson‘s which launched in April.

Valli consistently churns out great collections that we covet but can’t afford, so I’m excited to see what the designer can produce at a much lower price point. He probably can’t put out anything like this but a girl can dream…

It’s more likely Valli could translate these looks to mass, and we’re really hoping he does.
