Barneys New York and Lady Gaga are two of my favorite things, so this collabo is so exciting to me!!!! Barneys announced today their Holiday 2011 campaign, GAGA’S WORKSHOP, bringing together renowned creative talents including artists: Eli Sudbrack and Christophe Hamaide Pierson of Assume Vivid Astro Focus (AVAF), and Mugler Creative Director and Lady Gaga Fashion Director, Nicola Formichetti, to create Lady Gaga’s interpretation of the iconic Santa’s Workshop.

“For the first time ever, Barneys New York will convert an entire floor of its Madison Avenue flagship in New York City into a dedicated space for the holiday initiative. Starting in mid-November, GAGA’S WORKSHOP will be brought to life throughout the fifth floor of the Men’s Store at the Madison Avenue flagship, and will also be supported in the store’s iconic Madison Avenue windows.

Barneys New York has worked closely with Lady Gaga under the creative direction of Nicola Formichetti to design a range of exclusive, limited-edition, small gift items, which will be available for a limited time only at GAGA’S WORKSHOP. In addition to GAGA’S WORKSHOP in New York, a selection of items from the collection will also be available at Barneys New York locations nationwide and online at Barneys.com. Barneys New York will donate 25% of sales from all items featured in GAGA’S WORKSHOP to a charity of Lady Gaga’s choice in honor of this special program and in the spirit of the holiday season.”

GAGA’S WORKSHOP will go live digitally on a custom-created section of Barneys.com, and will be launched via The Window, Barneys New York’s luxury content site. Can’t wait!!!

8 Fall-Perfect Lip Colors to Try Now

This may just be the season of the lip. Though there was no shortage of super pale nudes on the Fall 2011 runways (think Chloé, Jason Wu, Chanel, and Yves Saint Laurent), there were plenty of more dramatic hues on display as well. From the intensely dark shades spotted at Gucci and Custo Barcelona to the vibrant brights seen at Jil Sander (left) and Nina Ricci, Fall 2011 offers a lip color for everyone — and every mood. Click through to see 8 of the prettiest lip colors of the season. Personally, I love reds and fuschias to liven up any outfit. 😉

The Kardashians for Sears, the Komplete Kollection!!

The Kardashian’s highly anticipated kollection for Sears launchesd on August 11!!!

If you want to look like the Kardashians then this collection is for you. The pieces–especially the curve hugging cut out stretch dresses–really look like what Kim, Kourtney and Khloe wear. The line features everything from tight mini dresses to jump suits (I’m loving these), blingy accessories, bags, heels, sunglasses, and sexy matchy matchy lingerie. And nothing is over $70. If you’re itching to get your hands on it now, the collection is now available at Sears.

The offering hits Target stores and online Sept. 13, and encompasses everything from womenswear and shoes to bedding and dinnerware. Neiman Marcus X Keds

There comes a point when you (and I) can’t bear to wear 5- or 6-inch heels for even a minute longer—even if they are wedges. For that point, Neiman Marcus has teamed up with Keds, the classic sneaker label, on a pair of leopard-fur kicks that balance comfort with a bit of style. They’ll be available at Neiman Marcus stores NOW! With New York fashion week around the corner, they’re an affordable ($100) investment—perfect to slip on for the trek home after a long day of dashing between Lincoln Center and Milk Studios. Also, they are very similar to my Alice + Olivia Keds that I just blogged a couple of days ago. Super cute !!

A Look at Ralph Lauren’s New Denim & Supply Collection

Wool-Blend Textured Turtleneck, $98

Ralph Lauren just launched a new, heritage-driven brand, Denim & Supply Ralph Lauren, today, inspiredby “found vintage pieces” styled in a “young, individualistic spirit.” According to the release, this first collection is based on three stories — Into the Wild, The Lodge, and The Wharf — and will retail between $39.50 and $298 with “specialty jeans” under $200 and “core jeans” under $100.

Giles Deacon for Nine West Is Now Available!

The nine-piece capsule line of shoes, bags, and jewelry that Giles Deacon did for Nine West has just hit online and select Nine West stores. The collection — which runs $26 to $149 — has a couple of black leather-and-suede strappy shoes more in line with Deacon’s fetishistic Fall 2011 collection, plus pieces featuring the bug-eyed creature Eek, which Deacon has placed sweaters and blouses in his previous collections. CUTE!!

ALICE + OLIVIA LEOPARD KEDS o_0

I am in love with these Alice + Olivia Keds that I have recently purchased on Gilt.com. So much so, that I purchased two!! They are comfy and leopard print you can’t go wrong. They look great with a cute summer dress or little cut off shorts. Gilt.com is sold out and so is Keds.com. So, if you want your own, you can still catch them at Bloomingdales . They are on sale for $46.20!!! Get them while they last 🙂

Can Selling Other Brands’ Stuff Save American Apparel?

According to WWD, American Apparel will now focus on selling third-party merchandise–the latest in the company’s long struggle to stay afloat.

In particular, the brand has plans to reinvigorate it’s accessories department–which currently only accounts for a small percentage of total sales–by scouting for new, autonomous labels to shill in-store. To that end, Dov Charney and chief business development officer Marty Staff will be visiting trade shows MAGIC and Project later this month (female vendors beware) to suss out what brands they might want to bring into the fold (and what brands are willing). Their footwear department, which the retailer has been steadily growing since launching a few years back, will also benefit from some new additions: According to sources in WWD, “American Apparel is in talks with several sneaker brands regarding potential collaborations.”

I’m not sure exactly what it means when the best way to save your brand means selling other people’s shit but it must be a strategy that works. Over the years, retailers like J. Crew, Madewell and Club Monaco have steadily taken on brands like Barbour, Minnetonka and Birkenstocks, to sell in their stores. Only time will tell if the strategy will work for American Apparel, or if the sagging retailer is beyond hope.

The saga continues.
