In celebration of Disney‘s The Muppets starring Jason Segel, Amy Adams, Chris Cooper, Kermit, Miss Piggy and the entire Muppet crew, OPI launches twelve limited edition nail lacquers for Holiday 2011. The collection was inspired by the film’s namesake lively and colorful characters, this line features six shimmery reds and neutrals, as well as six glitter-packed shades. The collection launches in November and the movie opens in theaters nationwide on November 23, 2011! Love them all!!! Which one is your fav???

Tailored Biker
Neat tailored biker jackets accentuate the waist and add a rock’n’roll swagger to feminine ensembles. Unexpected, luxurious fabrics add a softness to the look, with jackets coming in navy wool, boucle and tweedy woven fabrics trimmed with white shearling. Designers play with color too, eschewing the biker’s traditional black for creamy whites, grays, tan suede and beige. Zips, buckles and swinging belts add interest at the waist and emphasize the swing of the asymmetric fastening. Minimal detailing elsewhere adds an elegance to this rough-edged pieces.
Blouse Sweatshirt
Stretch-cuff sweatshirt shapes are rendered in delicate satin and silk, adding a slouchy, yet feminine feel to a sporty silhouette. Deconstructive details, such as a zipped shoulder seam, or bandage-like layers, add an experimental twist. Cropped sleeves and exotic prints have a ritzy, 90’s feel. Exaggerated ribbed collars and waistbands create doll-like proportions.
Geometric Statement
Sharp graphic shapes shout to be noticed on bold, statement dresses. Horizontal stripes, play with contrasts of color and texture, drawing on sportswear for a punchy, athletic look. Simple geometric shapes, such as diamonds and rectangles have a more modernist vibe, while leather seam panels draw on military clothing and aviation uniform. A curvy black applique abstracts and exaggerates the shape of the body for a Matisse-like effect. Draped fabrics contrast with simple monochrome panels and severe color blocking.
Structured Bell Skirt
Thigh length, bell-shaped skirts add an overstated swing to the hips, given extra wow factor via structural embellishments. Inverted pleats are key, creating a graphic, round silhouette with stiff fabrics and allowing for deep side pockets. Overskirt-like ruffles at the waist add a further flourish, while a high-waisted leather belt extends the exaggerated hourglass silhouette, which can be emphasized with long sweaters or a bright, fringed scarf.
Confirmed by the recent ladies runways, this forecast of the must-have colors for Spring 2012 promises a beautiful season to come. Clear, warm brights of poppy, and geranium through to canary are countered by refreshingly cool tiffany blue and hyacinth. Opening ceremony has a lot going on for their carnival-themed Fashion’s Night Out bash in and around their Ace Hotel store location.
Firstly, the beloved indie department store will announce this year’s country of focus: Argentina. They’ll be partnering with 125-year-old Argentinean textile company Alpargatas to create limited edition shoes and clothing inspired by traditional Argentinean styles–in particular, they’ll be hawking jupe-soled Alpargatas (aka espadrille-like slip-ons), which, in case you hadn’t guessed, were pioneered by the company. Opening Ceremony will also carry Argentine designers, including JUNGLE Vi.Ai.Pi., Ale Sly, and Chicco Ruiz, to customize styles, colorways, and fabrications for the retailer and brand–all of which will become available this September.
Best of all though, is that Miss Piggy (yes, really) will be stopping by the brand’s store in the Ace Hotel this Fashion’s Night Out. Why you ask? To unveil her new collection with the brand, Muppets x Opening Ceremony a.k.a the best news I’ve heard all morning ! No word yet on what the line will include, but I’m hoping for some very fuzzy faux-fur coats and diva-worthy boas.
Other highlights from Opening Ceremony’s Fashion’s Night Out bash include live dance performances outfitted by Alexander Wang, Proenza Schouler, Suno, and Opening Ceremony; a raffle to win a PS1 hosted by the Proenza Schouler boys, a magic show hosted by the Rodarte girls; a Tumblr-sponsored photo booth that will have your pretty mugs uploaded in real time to the brand’s just-unveiled Tumblr, and so, so much more.

Inspired by Lulu Frost designer Lisa Salzer’s personal collection of antique brooches, belt buckles and pins, the capsule features a total of 14 Art Deco-influenced pieces — all in bright hues with sparkly Czech crystal accents. There are several high-gloss resin bangles (perfect for layering), a selection of colorful stone-and-crystal pendants, and a trio of elegantly geometric earrings.
Ranging in price from $45 to $135, the collection marks the second collaboration for Lulu Frost and J.Crew — a four-piece capsule was offered last year, for Holiday 2010.

The trio of of blue lacquers were inspired by quintessence of casual chic: denim. A gradation of three shades, the colors range from deep to medium to very pale blue, LOVE. Even the names are super cute: Blue Rebel, Blue Boy and Coco Blue.
