5 Ways to Wear a Classic Parka

Bundle up. The parka had a big presence on the Fall 2011 runways — from Rag & Bone to Altuzarra (left), the options on offer were a plenty. And with the likes of Phillip Lim, Jason Wu, and Alexander Wang all showing versions of the parka’s lighter-weight cousin — the anorak — for Spring 2012, it seems that sporty toppers are here to stay. See below for five stylish ways to wear yours, this Winter and beyond.

Warm-weather staples get Winter-ready with the addition of a leopard sweater and sheer tights. The honey hue of the coat adds a bit of romance — and makes the floral blouse pop — in this monochrome look.
Beyond basic. Casual classics are elevated with the help of a jaunty fedora and loads of fur.An oversized fur hood and a flouncy skirt lend glamour.
An earth-toned parka grounds this eclectic mix of color, print, and pattern.

Nicole Miller For JCPenney Complete Lookbook

I have a thing for Nicole Miller, and the lady behind it all. However, her spring ’12 collection for JCPenney is now giving me even more to love and much less to pay. The New York designer delivers the chic wearability we’ve come to expect from her line, as well as some styling inspiration, all priced under $100. With looks that might as well be part of a textbook entry on “How to Mix Prints,” the newest lookbook also brings the return of chunky platforms, asymmetrical necklines, and bright boho prints. Love It All!!

The collection reads like a sartorial mix tape for whatever mood we’re in, with beyond enough options — flirty animal-print dresses, off-the-shoulder blouses, and tailored black bottoms, to name a few. Celebrity-in-hiding sunnies, cool printed and solid handbags, and color-blocked heels finish off the looks and add a certain edginess to the easy collection.

Last week I’ve posted the lookbook images of the Versace for H&M Cruise 2012 collection featuring Abbey Lee Kershaw and River Viiperi, now here’s a look at the ad campaign. The poolside set looks pretty cool against the fruit prints and I swear Abbey makes everything look so good! Does this make you like the collection more? The collection is slated to release exclusively in markets where H&M online is available on January 19th.

The Entire Jason Wu For Target Collection

Here’s a look at the complete Jason Wu for Target collection, which hits stores February 5th. Inspired by French New Wave films and the actress Jean Seberg, the 53-piece capsule features a selection of seriously covetable separates — blouses with Peter Pan collars, pleated skirts, and nautical-tinged dresses — as well as a hefty assortment of luxe-looking handbags and accessories. “My goal was not to duplicate anything from my main collection,” Wu explains. “Instead I designed completely new clothes and accessories that reflect my taste and have a voice of their own.” With everything in the collection priced under $60, it seems that soon everyone will be able to afford a little piece of Wu to call their own as well. Look below for entire collection, now.

NARS Spring 2012 Collection + Makeup Removing Water

NARS Spring 2012 Collection + Makeup Removing Water

Love this new Nars collection! I can’t wait to try the eyeshadows and of course the blush, which is the perfect shade of pink of spring /summer. The Makeup remover is also a definite must have on my list 😉

The Spring 2012 Collection, created by Founder and Creative Director François Nars, stars a mix of bright and playful colors balanced with rich, saturated hues. Nars chose to photograph model Ginta Lapina for the spring campaign, explaining, “Her delicate features and classic beauty made her an ideal fit for a collection that’s at once fresh and fierce.” The collection is a study in contrasts: Bold color underscored by sophisticated shimmer. Eyes glisten in muted tones of lavender and pink, or shimmer in bronze shades accented with rich navy. Cheeks are flushed with candy pink. Lips gleam in topaz or pop with berry. Metallic violet nails add the finishing touch to a collection that’s bright, strong and iconic.

The collection launches on http://www.narscosmetics.com on January 13th.
