Nicole by OPI Limited Edition Gumdrops Nail Lacquers

Yay! Another new collection from Nicole by OPI, this new limited edition collection, Gumdrops, features six matte texture shades with a “sugar-like” finish that lightly shimmers with fine glitter particles just like the candy! Nicole by OPI Gumdrops nail lacquers should always be worn without top coat to achieve the unique textured matte finish.

This limited edition collection will be available beginning May 2013 for $7.99 each at retailers including select Walmart (May 2013), CVS (June 2013), Rite Aid, Kmart, Kroger, Ulta, H-E-B, and Duane Reade locations (August 2013), In Canada, these shades will be available for $10.99 each at Shoppers Drug Mart, Walmart Canada (July 2013), Jean Coutu, Loblaw, and London Drug (August 2013).

China Glaze Hologlam Collection

China Glaze launches a new collection called Hologlam featuring a 12-piece collection of shimmering holographic nail lacquers. China Glaze Hologlam uses reflective, holographic particles to capture light and transform nails into amazing, ever-changing visual effects. With a strong linear finish whether indoor or shining bright in the sun, China Glaze Hologlam bends and changes, creating an illuminated three-dimensional, traveling color effect across the nail.

The China Glaze Hologlam collection will be available in April 2013 at fine salons and beauty supply stores nationwide with an SRP of $14. Looks and sounds pretty cool, can’t wait to try it all!

Summer Manicure Inspiration

While it’s not officially summer on the calendar for a few weeks yet, mentally we’re in summer mode. It’s in the 80s here in NYC and everyone is in sandals and sundresses–which means it’s time to ditch the greige nails. I’ve searched high and low for manicure inspiration for the summer, and found some amazing picks. Which one will you be trying ?

OK, OK, we know a lot of you love yellow. We’ll begrudgingly admit this sunny yellow mani from Rimmel makes us smile.

The nails on Prabal Gurung’s spring runway featured Sally Hansen’s Without a Stitch and a strip of the rosey coral Casting Call. Perfect neutral with a twist.

Traditional French manicures are yawn-inducing. These juicy colored French manis pop out. It’s the color-blocking trend for those of you too nervous to try it head to toe.

No one does nail art like the Japanese. These nautical nails are a perfect homage to Fleet Week, and just a wee bit silly.

How cute are these aqua polka dots going to look with your vintage-inspired maillot? Answer: very cute.

These look like bubbles, or fish scales, or a delicious, fizzy, blue drink.

In honor of Lady Gaga taking over every media outlet, billboard, magazine, bus stop, and talk show, here’s one of her recent manis. Maybe not a traditional pretty summer mani, but it will definitely get you noticed.

Mimosa is getting all the attention in Chanel’s summer collection, but we’re a sucker for bubble gum pink–check out Morning Rose.

Super Summer Nail Polish Guide

It’s true—I get a bit fanatical about nail polish. And now that the sun is finally shining and everyone’s donning their warm-weather attire, what better way to channel our need for a summer manicure fix than by showcasing the season’s freshest lacquers? I’ve got you covered with an awesome color wheel full of more than 30 totally transformative shades.
